Miri Infotech is launching a product TimeTrex, an open source software solution which is embedded pre-configured tool with LAMP and ready-to-launch AMI on Amazon EC2 that contains TimeTrex, Apache, MySQL, Linux, PHP (LAMP).
TimeTrex features:

  • Scheduling & Leave Management - Automate simple or even complex multi-week rotating schedules and never generate them manually again. Employees can access their schedules from any web browser or even synchronize them with their mobile device.
  • Payroll & HRM / Recruitment - Since TimeTrex handles both Scheduling and Attendance, Payroll can be processed in just a few clicks.

You can subscribe to TimeTrex, an AWS Marketplace product and launch an instance from the product's AMI using the Amazon EC2 launch wizard.

To launch an instance from the AWS Marketplace using the launch wizard
  • Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/
  • From the Amazon EC2 dashboard, choose Launch Instance.
    On the Choose an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) page, choose the AWS Marketplace category on the left. Find a suitable AMI by browsing the categories, or using the search functionality. Choose Select to choose your product.
  • A dialog displays an overview of the product you've selected. You can view the pricing information, as well as any other information that the vendor has provided. When you're ready, choose Continue.
  • On the Choose an Instance Type page, select the hardware configuration and size of the instance to launch. When you're done, choose Next: Configure Instance Details.
  • On the next pages of the wizard, you can configure your instance, add storage, and add tags. For more information about the different options you can configure, see Launching an Instance. Choose Next until you reach the Configure Security Group page.
  • The wizard creates a new security group according to the vendor's specifications for the product. The security group may include rules that allow all IP addresses (0.0.0.0/0) access on SSH (port 22) on Linux or RDP (port 3389) on Windows. We recommend that you adjust these rules to allow only a specific address or range of addresses to access your instance over those ports.
  • When you are ready, choose Review and Launch.
  • On the Review Instance Launch page, check the details of the AMI from which you're about to launch the instance, as well as the other configuration details you set up in the wizard. When you're ready, choose Launch to select or create a key pair, and launch your instance.
  • Depending on the product you've subscribed to, the instance may take a few minutes or more to launch. You are first subscribed to the product before your instance can launch. If there are any problems with your credit card details, you will be asked to update your account details. When the launch confirmation page displays
ABOUT

TimeTrex is web based software used to manage (record and report) student, employee attendance. TimeTrex comes in Standard, Business and Pro versions; both Business and Pro are commercial software whereas the Standard is available as a free download. The time and attendance software module allows an organization to track and monitor employee attendance in real-time from anywhere in the world and features a wide variety of time clock integration options.

Guidelines
  • User must be created to access the software.
  • Timesheet entries must be accurate.
  • Must have admin rights to access complete software.
Limitations
  • Some customer feedback found the package too feature-laden for basic needs but did acknowledge that with some work it was possible to "hide" unused features and create a simpler user interface.
  • As with other open-source HR applications, TimeTrex lacks the coding community backbone to seriously push innovation via user source code modification.
  • While technically open-source, TimeTrex's revenue model is such that very few features exist which are free—potentially reducing the company's future customer footprint.
Usage/Deployment Instruction
 

Step 1: Open the URL: http:///

Step 2: Select “I Accept” check box and press right arrow key button to proceed next.

 

Step 3: Select Database Type: MySQLi(v5.5+w/InnoDB)

Host Name: localhost

Database Name: timetrex

Database User Name: timetrex

Database Password: <instance id>

Privileged Database User Name: root

Privileged Database User Password: <instance id>

Press “Test Connection” button to test the connection. Now press right arrow key button to proceed next.

 

 

 

Step 4: It will take some time to initialize the database.

 

Step 5: Do not change in this window and press right arrow key button to proceed next.

Note: above fields are mandatory during timetrex installation purpose and press right arrow key button to proceed next.

 

 

Step 7: Please fill below fields

User Name: <user name>

Email: <email id>

and press right arrow key button to proceed next.

 

Step 8: Once all done you will get a Congratulation message window. Now click “login” to login TimeTrex.

 

 

Step 9: Once Logged in successfully follow the Quick Start Wizard to proceed next.

 

 

Step 10: TimeTrex is ready to use.
