MIRI Infotech brings an automation server tool that provides hundreds of plugins to support building, deploying and automating any project.

 A self-contained server-Jenkin can be used to automate all sorts of tasks related to building, testing, and delivering software. A very high in its flexibility level and allows continuous integration and will be installed on a server where the central build takes place.

Miri Infotech is launching a product which will configure a tool called as jenkins to a wide variety of statistical (linear and nonlinear modelling, classical statistical tests, time-series analysis, classification, clustering) and graphical techniques which is embedded pre-configured tool with Ubuntu 16.04 and ready-to-launch AMI on Amazon EC2 that contains Hadoop, Javadocs and version control server.

Jenkins can be installed to watch for any code changes in places like SVN and Git, automatically build with tools like Ant and Maven that initiate tests and then take actions like rolling back or rolling forward in production. This helps to keep the project running.

Jenkin is not only limited to this but also has more than 133,000 active sites, globally, and over 1,000,000 users.

The basic functionality of Jenkins is to execute a predefined list of steps, e.g. to compile Java source code and build a JAR from the resulting classes. The trigger for this execution can be time or event based.

Let us now give a brief look at some of its features which are useful for the users who want to use it.


Jenkins offers the following major features out of the box, and many more can be added through plugins:

    You can subscribe to Jenkins, an AWS Marketplace product and launch an instance from the Jenkins product's AMI using the Amazon EC2 launch wizard

    • To launch an instance from the AWS Marketplace using the launch wizard
    • Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/.
    • From the Amazon EC2 dashboard, choose Launch Instance.
    • On the Choose an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) page, choose the AWS Marketplace category on the left. Find a suitable AMI by browsing the categories, or using the search functionality. Choose Select to choose your product.
    • A dialog displays an overview of the product you've selected. You can view the pricing information, as well as any other information that the vendor has provided. When you're ready, choose Continue.
    • On the Choose an Instance Type page, select the hardware configuration and size of the instance to launch. When you're done, choose Next: Configure Instance Details.
    • On the next pages of the wizard, you can configure your instance, add storage, and add tags. For more information about the different options you can configure, see Launching an Instance. Choose Next until you reach the Configure Security Group page.
    • The wizard creates a new security group according to the vendor's specifications for the product. The security group may include rules that allow all IP addresses ( access on SSH (port 22) on Linux or RDP (port 3389) on Windows. We recommend that you adjust these rules to allow only a specific address or range of addresses to access your instance over those ports.
    • When you are ready, choose Review and Launch.
    • On the Review Instance Launch page, check the details of the AMI from which you're about to launch the instance, as well as the other configuration details you set up in the wizard. When you're ready, choose Launch to select or create a key pair, and launch your instance.
    • Depending on the product you've subscribed to, the instance may take a few minutes or more to launch. You are first subscribed to the product before your instance can launch. If there are any problems with your credit card details, you will be asked to update your account details. When the launch confirmation page displays


    With Jenkins, you can configure alerts in several ways, for example, you can receive email notification, pop-ups, etc. and actually automate it. By implementing the right configuration for you, you get almost immediate feedback. You will always know if the build broke.


    It is basically a tool that automates the project development phase including the deployment and development of the project.

    Jenkins defines extension points, which are interfaces or abstract classes that model an aspect of its behavior. Those interfaces define contracts of what need to be implemented, and Jenkins allows plugins to contribute those implementations.


    Before exploring more about the tool, let’s see what are the prerequisites of the tool: -

    A machine with:

    1. 256 MB of RAM, although more than 512MB is recommended
    2. 10 GB of drive space (for Jenkins and your Docker image)

    The following software installed:

    1. Java 8 (either a JRE or Java Development Kit (JDK) is fine)
    2. Docker (navigate to Get Docker at the top of the website to access the Docker download that’s suitable for your platform.

    Deployment Instruction

    Open the URL: http://<instance ip address>:8080

    IP address of the running EC2 instance.

    Step 1: Enter User Name and Password.

    First time login password is auto generated you can get it after putty login.

    Step2: Open in putty and enter the ip address in the Host Name Column

    Step 3:  Enter authorized ppk file. Click on SSH>> Auth >> Select ppk file by Browse Button >> Open

    Step 4:  Type Sudo su

    Step 5:  CD ~

    Step 6:  vi /var/lib/jenkins/secrets/initialAdminPassword

    Step 7:  Press Enter

    Step 8: Copy Password

    Step9: Now login in Jenkins
